Boris Chimp 504: Electronic music under the dome

18 October 2024

On the evening of Saturday 16 November, experience science-fiction inspired live music under the dome of the planetarium with Portuguese audiovisual duo Boris Chimp 504.

Boris Chimp 504 – Miguel Neto (Sound) and Rodrigo Carvalho (Visuals & Interactive Systems) from Portugal – tells the tale of Boris 504, a chimpanzee sent to the moon by the soviets in 1969, getting stuck in space forever. Since then he has been exploring the space-time continuum, jumping between several dimensions of the Universe. With this starting point, Miguel & Rodrigo have been exploring the relation between sound & image since 2010.

Join Boris Chimp 504 at 19:30 on Saturday 16 November in the planetarium as they create an immersive voyage, merging reality and fiction. Tickets cost 20 Euro each and can booked now on our website

Mixing techno, psychedelia and noise, along with audio-reactive visuals generated in real time, Boris Chimp 504 create an experience strongly influenced by science fiction, interspersed with the most current scientific discoveries.

Boris Chimp 504 have presented both audiovisual performances & interactive installations at festivals such as Sonar (Barcelona, Lisboa), Mutek.Es (Barcelona), Mapping Festival (Genève), ADAF (Athens), Patchlab Festival (Krakow), Fotonica (Rome), ECHO (Dubai), Stereolux (Nantes) and Iminente (Lisbon), among many others.
