Neue Space Scoop-Webseite online

Pünktlich zu den Weihnachtsferien präsentiert sich Space Scoop, ein astronomisches Nachrichtenportal für Kinder ab acht Jahren, mit brandneuer Webseite und spannenden, astronomischen Inhalten.

Space Scoop wird von den internationalen Projekten Universe Awareness (EU-UNAWE) und Space Awareness (SPACE-AWE) gemeinsam mit einigen Partnern koordiniert, zu denen auch die ESO und ESA/Hubble zählen. Jeder Space Scoop-Artikel enthält Neuigkeiten über die jüngsten astronomischen Entdeckungen in kindgerechter Sprache und wird von beeindruckenden astronomischen Bildern begleitet. Ziel ist es, die Neugierde der Kinder für das Universum und die Begeisterung für neue Erkenntnisse zu wecken. Auch werden so das Interesse in die Wissenschaft sowie die Leidenschaft am Lernen gefördert.

Da Wissenschaft häufig als veraltet und langweilig wahrgenommen wird, soll das Projekt Kinder vom Gegenteil überzeugen. Die neue Space Scoop-Webseite hat ein lebhaftes, auffälliges Design mit lustigen Graphiken, Bildern und Symbolen, das auf Kinder zugeschnitten ist.

Alle Artikel auf der Space Scoop-Seite werden einer internenen Überprüfung bezüglich ihrer pädagogischen Qualität unterzogen. Die Space Scoop-Webseite wird in 22 verschiedenen Sprachen verfügbar sein. Zusätzlich zu den Texten enthält die Webseite ein umfangreiches Glossar, in dem die Natur astronomischer Objekte und wissenschaftlicher Begriffe auf einfache Weise erklärt wird.

Space Scoop gibt es auch als Android-App, die kostenlos im Google Play-Store heruntergeladen werden kann.

Universe Awareness (UNAWE) verwendet spannende Aspekte der Astronomie, um das Interesse von Kindern im Alter von 4 bis 10 Jahren, besonders aus benachteiligten Verhältnissen, für Wissenschaft und Technologie zu wecken. UNAWE nutzt außerdem die Perspektive und Weite des Universums, um Toleranz für unterschiedliche Kulturen und das Gefühl einer Weltbürgerschaft zu fördern. Zu den Aktivitäten der UNAWE gehören Lehrerfortbildungen, die Erstellung von herausragenden pädagogischen Materialien und ein interdisziplinares Netzwerk. UNAWE wird von der Leiden-Universität in den Niederlanden koordiniert.

Space Awareness ist ein internationales Projekt, das das Interesse an Wissenschaft und Technologie sowie an einer Karriere, die in Verbindung mit dem Weltall steht, bei Schülern wecken soll. Auch wird das Gefühl einer Weltbürgerschaft gefördert. Dafür bietet das Projekt eine Vielzahl an Hilfsmitteln und Aktivitäten für die Inspiration von Kindern, Jugendlichen und Lehrern an. Außerdem werden Aktivitäten professionelle Entwicklungswerkzeuge, Bildungsressourcen, Space Scoops, Bürgerwissenschaft und Spiele sowie Geschichten von einer Karriere im Weltraum angeboten. Space Awareness wird von der Leiden-Universität in den Niederlanden koordiniert.

Space Scoop wird gefördert vom Siebten Rahmenprogramm der Europäischen Gemeinschaft European unter dem Fördervertrag n° 263325, das Horizon 2020 Programm unter dem Fördervertrag n° 6386523 sowie von der ESO (European Southern Observatory) und dem National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ).

Die ESO zählt zu den ersten astronomischen Institutionen, die sich Space Scoop angeschlossen haben und die Pressemitteilungen in eine "Kindersprache" übersetzt haben.
