The first images taken by probes from the surface of Mars showed a dry rocky desert. So far, all attempts to find life on Mars have been unsuccessful. Nevertheless, scientists have not given up hope of finding life there — not Martians who want to conquer Earth, but perhaps some bacteria living below the surface of Mars.
