"Seeing the Invisible" poster

Poster for the educational workshop "Seeing the Invisible". This workshop gives students in Grades 11–13 the opportunity to use their own mini APEX telescope to discover the secrets of an astrophysical source that doesn’t emit any visible light. They apply real astronomical techniques to measure the properties of this source, in an attempt to identify what the object is. Alongside this they learn how to evaluate experimental errors. Using their own measurements they then discover why astronomers decided to build ALMA — the largest interferometer in the world currently working at these wavelengths — and find out about the amazing discoveries ALMA has made.
