Laser, Light, Life temporary exhibition

The temporary exhibition Laser, Light, Life — From science fiction to high-tech photonics was on display at ESO Supernova between 2018 and 2020. Designed by the Faculty of Physics of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), it provides insights into laser technology from its very beginnings to the present day, and highlights visionary possibilities for its application. In addition to science fiction, the functioning of lasers and their development history, the exhibition presents fascinating areas of basic research at the LMU and the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics in Garching.
