Night-Time Time-lapse at Cerro Armazones

This nighttime time-lapse reveals the Milky Way hanging above the site testing equipment on top of Cerro Armazones, in the Chilean Atacama Desert.

Cerro Armazones was chosen as the site for the planned Extremely Large Telescope (ELT), which, with its 39-metre diameter mirror, will be the world’s biggest eye on the sky.
