Dark side of the Moon (artist's impression)

This graphic shows the Moon in the foreground, the familiar crescent shaped reflection highlighting its pockmarked surface. The Sun's light just catches the curve of the Earth, with the star itself a burning light in the background.

The image will feature in the ESO Supernova exhibition "The Living Universe".
