Phobos and Deimos

When Mars was at opposition in 1877, Asaph Hall discovered two moons. He named them Phobos, meaning fear or panic, and Deimos, meaning terror or dread — both suitable names to accompany the god of war. This image shows Phobos passing in front of Deimos, from the perspective of NASA's Mars rover Curiosity.
