es2510 — Organisation Release
Constellation crafting during the carnival holidays
Children's activities during the 100 Days of Planetarium in the ESO Supernova
7 February 2025
From Wednesday 5 March to Friday 7 March, from 14:00 - 17:00, we invite all little stargazers aged 4 years and up to take part in exciting hands-on activities at the ESO Supernova! During these three days, you can come along without prior registration and make your own constellations to take home with you. You also have the opportunity to look through a constellation viewer and discover the fascinating world of the stars.
What can you expect?
- Make constellations: Design your own constellation cards and learn what the most well-known constellations look like in the night sky. You can later put these in your self-made constellation viewer at home and bring the stars straight into the children's room!
- Try constellation viewing: Look through our constellation viewers and see stars even in the daytime. Maybe you'll even recognise the plough or the celestial W?
- Find out some of the stories behind the constellations.
The activities are suitable for all children aged 4 years and older, and are a great opportunity to learn more about the night sky in a playful way. You can find the activities on the ground floor of the ESO Supernova, near the temporary exhibition The stars were only the beginning.
We look forward to your visit and to exploring the stars with you!
