Save the date — On 3 October 2024 it’s Open House Day
6 September 2024
The ESO Supernova Planetarium & Visitor Centre will open its doors to the public on 3 October 2024 with a special programme. The activities are part of a larger Open House Day event that takes place across the whole Garching research campus, between 10:00 and 17:00.
The ESO Supernova programme will start slightly earlier, from 09:00. Our team will deliver several planetarium shows, both live presentations and fulldome films, as well as several guided tours through our exhibition, all free of charge. The detailed programme will be announced one week before the event on the ESO Supernova website.
50% of the seats for the planetarium shows will be available for online booking between 25 September 12:00 and 2 October 12:00, while the other 50% will be distributed on 3 October on site, at the ESO Supernova reception, 45 minutes before the start of each show.
Guided tours are not available for online booking. Tickets for the exhibition tours will be available at the ESO Supernova reception 45 minutes before the tours start. Tickets for the headquarters tours will be available at the ESO main reception 45 minutes before the tours start.
For all other activities, no tickets will be necessary. Simply show up at the ESO Supernova. Stay tuned for a detailed programme soon on supernova.eso.org.
While you are on the campus, make sure to also visit the Headquarters of the European Southern Observatory (ESO), where you can talk to astronomers and engineers and discover more about the ESO telescopes. The full list of activities will be announced one week before the event at www.eso.org.
