A Supernova sunset

This image shows  the Rooftop Terrace of the ESO Supernova Planetarium & Visitor Centre at sunset. The roof, which weighs almost 30 tonnes, consists of glass panels set into a metal framework made of 262 triangular sections, artistically arranged to represent some of the constellations of the southern sky.

In good weather you will also be able to see the Alps, creating a perfect backdrop for an informal event or an after-hours business cocktail.
