Three of Four
The plane of the Milky Way — rippled with dust, gas and stars — elegantly stretches above three of the four Unit Telescopes of the Very Large Telescope (VLT) in this unusual fulldome fish-eye perspective from ESO's Paranal Observatory in northern Chile.
The red and green radiance scattering the sky is a luminescence known as airglow.
