Only in September: Cosmos Odyssey
Limited time to see a spectacular Korean production
1 August 2022
This September, the ESO Supernova Planetarium & Visitor Centre offers you an exclusive and limited-time offer: a chance to see Cosmos Odyssey — Our Quest to Discover the Universe, a Korean planetarium production.
Cosmos Odyssey will have a limited number of showings, only during the month of September, so don’t miss your chance!
This show explores the history of the Universe and the human effort to understand it. From ancient mythological views of the Universe to modern observatories, the production takes you through the evolution of astronomical science and technology.
Throughout the show, you will explore the evolution of our knowledge of the Universe over its 13.8 billion-year history. Learn about how our ancestors explained the movements of celestial objects in the night sky, take a look at how the early telescopes worked and be amazed by the new, modern facilities, either on the ground or in space, that allow us to better observe the Cosmos. Discover unseen secrets, previously hidden from optical observatories, now unveiled using the latest astronomical techniques that makes full use of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Created by Korean producer and astrophotographer Kwon O Chul, this show is appropriate from age 8 years. Cosmos Odyssey features images from three major observatories of the world - Mauna Kea (Hawaii), La Palma (Canary Islands), as well as ESO's facilities in the Atacama Desert, in Chile.
The show is available in English and German. Tickets cost 5 euro.
