ESO Supernova Temporary Closure
28 February 2020
In light of the global spread of COVID-19, and as a purely precautionary measure, the ESO Supernova Planetarium & Visitor Centre in Garching, Germany, will remain closed until further notice, to ensure the safety of visitors and staff. The situation is being reviewed periodically, and further information will be provided. To avoid new bookings which may need to be cancelled, we have blocked the possibility to make new reservations for showings taking place until the end of 2020.
We are currently working on a hygiene concept based on the official requirements for reopening, which will result in restrictions - mainly in the number of people - in the exhibition and the planetarium. As soon as this concept is established and a date for reopening is fixed, we will share this information in our newsletter. You can subscribe to our newsletter using this link
Customers with existing bookings between 29 February until 30 July:
If you have bought tickets during this period, you will have received an email explaining how you can claim a gift voucher for a later visit. The email has been sent to the same email address you made the reservation with. Please check also your spam folder. If you have not received this email, please write to email@example.com with your reservation code and the information about your booking.
Customers with existing bookings August – end of 2020:
Your booking remains valid. Should we have to extend our closure later than the date of your booking, we will contact you by email. Until then, there is no need for you to take any action. We understand that, given the uncertainty of the situation, some people may already wish to reschedule their visit.
If you should have further questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
We are sorry for the disappointment and ask for your understanding in the current circumstances.
We wish you all well and look forward to seeing you again in the future.
