Cosmological simulation

Detailed simulations can provide a way to understand processes which occur on such long time scales (millions or even billions of years) that it is not possible to to observe these events in the Universe. Astronomers try to simulate the Universe using modern supercomputers. One of the biggest such virtual universes is the Aquarius Simulation.
