Dear educators and others interested in the educational programme of ESO Supernova!
With this newsletter we are happy to announce some good news: The ESO Supernova Planetarium and Visitor Center is back open again. However, we continue to be careful and therefore only open the exhibition for the time being, while keeping our well-established hygiene concept. But that also means that visits by larger groups are not possible at the moment due to the distance regulations and the resulting limitation of the number of visitors in the exhibition. Prior booking of free tickets for the exhibition remains necessary. Nevertheless, a visit to the exhibition alone or with the family is worth the trip to Garching.
The planetarium is undergoing some long-planned and exciting upgrades, so it will remain closed for now. However, we look forward to welcoming you back to the planetarium soon.
Due to the COVID-19 safety measures we are unfortunately still unable to offer guided tours or workshops on site for Schools and Kindergarten groups. Please have a look at our online resources, which you can find on our website or on our Youtube channel.
For teachers we’re preparing online trainings, about which we will inform you in the next newsletter.
To further improve our exhibition, we have created a survey that deals with the accessibility and comprehensibility of the exhibition. It was compiled by a master student from Leiden University. We would appreciate 10-15 minutes of your time to participate in the survey. Visitors who completed the survey can also opt-in to participate in a weekly lucky draw to win an ESO mug with the Carina Nebula.
Thank you for your continued support. We would be happy to welcome you at ESO Supernova.
