Dear visitors and supporters,
It has been another unpredictable and challenging year. Towards its end, we find ourselves grateful for having been able to share the fascinating world of astronomy and ESO with you. We take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and understanding during these difficult times. Let us suggest one resolution for a more optimistic 2022: visit the ESO Supernova in January! You can already book seats for the planetarium shows starting on 5 January.
For now, the ESO Supernova operates under 2G+ rules. Assuming the same rules will be in force during the first month of the next year, we released a limited number of tickets for each show. If restrictions are relaxed, we will add some more and let you know on our social media channels. We encourage you to follow our Facebook and Instagram for quick updates.
If you want to visit us earlier, be quick! There are only a few seats left for the remainder of 2021. ESO Supernova will be closing for a short break starting on 20 December and will reopen on the first Wednesday of the New Year.
In case you need some Christmas gift inspiration, make sure to browse our ESO Shop. You can find astronomy-themed mugs, puzzles, games and bags as well as some eye-catching starry T-shirts. One of our most popular items during the holiday season is the ESO Calendar — here is the 2022 edition.
“Experience gifts” are in fashion this holiday season, so here is one more tip: you can purchase an ESO Supernova gift voucher, giving access to your loved ones to a Planetarium show. The voucher is valid for one year from the date of purchase. Please note that we are not able to mail the vouchers after 17 December 2021 until we reopen early January 2022.
We, at ESO Supernova, are also looking forward to the holiday season! We hope that our efforts to inspire the love of astronomy to the coming generations placed us on Santa’s “nice” list. If you believe so too, please consider making a Christmas donation to the ESO Supernova, starting from just 10 euro.
Happy holidays and we hope to see you soon!
