ESO — Reaching New Heights in Astronomy
ESO Supernova Public Newsletter
11 November 2024

Dear visitors and supporters,

It is with great pleasure that we announce some of the last events for 2024 in this newsletter. In addition to our selection of interesting planetarium shows, like Birth of Planet Earth and Solar Superstorms, in our daytime programme, there are two events planned for the long, dark nights.

On the evening of Thursday 12 December, we host the final Kosmisches Kino for 2024 in the planetarium. This time, you can hear all about the cosmic giants of the Universe – galaxy clusters – and how they dance around each other and collide.

On Saturday 16 December the ESO Supernova is excited to host an evening of music from local artist Polygonia and several other artists. The evening promises to be a spellbinding mix of trippy Techno and ambient music, alongside mind-blowing visuals on the dome of the planetarium. Read more and book your tickets here.

And, finally, if you are looking for ways to fill your evenings this week, you are in luck! There are still tickets remaining for the Kosmisches Kino taking place on Thursday, 14 November – come and find out what gravity sounds like! And on Saturday, 16 November, don’t miss the chance to enjoy an audiovisual experience under the dome with the Portuguese duo Boris Chimp.

We look forward to welcoming you in the ESO Supernova and thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm.

Best wishes
Tania Johnston
Head of ESO Supernova
