Dear visitors and supporters,
2023 has been a busy year so far. In January and February over 9300 visitors have come to watch a planetarium show. In February we hosted two public talks, both of which were live-streamed online. If you missed these, you can still watch them on our YouTube channel.
Now we are very happy to bring you the Spring programme, which includes not one, but two news shows! Planetarium shows are bookable now until end of June, and we have exciting programmes for the Easter and Pentecost school holidays, as well as the public holidays on 18 May and 8 June. For the youngest astronomy fans, we have added “Captain Snoop’s Space Trip” to the programme. A wonderful animated show produced by Planetarium Laupheim. Additionally, we are delighted to introduce “Satelix” to our programme. A planetarium show produced by 6 different European planetariums, which demonstrates how cosmic technologies affect our everyday lives without us even realising it.
Finally, in case you missed the announcement, we are looking for an Education Specialist to join our team. As an experienced teacher or educator with a university degree (or comparable) preferably in elementary and childhood education or primary education (essential) with focus on natural sciences (desirable), you will be responsible for coordinating the project at ESO Supernova. If you are interested.in working in the field of early childhood education paired with science and cutting-edge technology in a stimulating international environment, you will find additional information on our website or you can apply here.
Many thanks for your continued support!
Tania Johnston, Head of ESO Supernova
