ESO — Reaching New Heights in Astronomy
ESO Supernova Public Newsletter
4 July 2025

Dear Visitors and Supporters,

As we approach the local school summer holidays, we are delighted to add a new planetarium show to our programme. Worlds Beyond Earth – a visually stunning exploration of our Solar System, recommended for children aged 10 years and up – can be booked from Friday 1 August, including a screening on our August “After Work@ESO Supernova” evening at 18:30. Find out more about the show in the press release.

Following the popularity of our constellation crafting workshops in the Easter holidays, we are happy to offer these again for families with the youngest astronomy fans. These workshops are free of charge, but tickets need to be booked in advance. Read more about the activities and how to book your tickets in the press release.

Finally, there are still tickets left for the “Hearts Wide Open” music performance from Fiona Grond on Friday 11 July. Don’t miss this live performance by a first-class sextet accompanied by beautiful visuals on the dome. Tickets can be booked here.

Many thanks for your continued support!

Best wishes
Tania Johnston
Head of ESO Supernova
